Assigning university job titles

Managers, in consultation with HR professionals, determine the appropriate university job family and job title for newly created positions, based on a review and analysis of the work performed as compared to the job summaries. VCU HR will periodically review job assignments and determine if changes in title are warranted. To ensure fair and consistent administration of job titling and compliance with relevant federal laws, HR may change university job titles that are incorrectly assigned.
