Career communities

Career communities are established around the VCU Job Family structure. All employees who are interested in learning about a particular career are welcome to participate in the relevant career community. New employees may learn about and be connected to career communities in a variety of ways during the onboarding process, including:

• as a new employee, an automatic assignment may be made to the job family career community through one of the university’s electronic onboarding systems such as Talent@ VCU;
• learning about career communities during new employee orientation;
• learning about career communities and being directly connected with one by the manager or during the department onboarding process
• an invitation from the job family career community to join the group.
